Brought together by music mogul and host of America’s Got Talent, Nick Cannon,
4Count is storming onto the scene in a big way, with their fun, upbeat sound and captivating
choreography. In the current music culture of supergroups like One Direction, The Wanted and 5 Seconds of Summer, this boy-band takes it to the next level by combining energetic pop songs and soft ballads with powerful live performances that include strong vocals and killer dance moves.
Adam the jokester, Kieran the old soul, Aaron the romantic and Ben the storyteller: all four guys have been inspired to pursue their dreams. “Everybody has struggles in life,” says Aaron. “We really are four regular guys from great backgrounds and families, but our different personalities really complement each other.”
And now, those complementing personalities are a part of another family, with one unique personality in the centre: Nick Cannon. The guys were brought together in 2011 to be a part of Nick’s label N’Credible Entertainment. “He’s like our big brother,” says Ben.
With inspirations like Justin Timberlake, Michael Jackson and the Temptations, the band is putting the finishing touches on their debut album. Producers Jenson Vaughn (Britney Spears, Madonna, Armin Van Buuren), Matt James and Craig Smart have lent their talents to the project, which has a fun vibe, but also includes relatable ballads. Their inspiring first single, “Epic,” is an energetic introduction to the band, proving they are one to watch.
But 4Count is most excited to perform live for fans. “When you see us on stage, you’re not bored. We respect all of the other boy bands out right now, but no one’s doing what we’re doing,” says Ben. Beyond the vocals, all four guys are incredibly strong dancers, contributing their own choreography for shows. “Our performance is what sets us apart,” adds Adam.
Fans will also get a chance to see their personalities come to life on the small screen when their show, which includes appearances from Nick Cannon, hits YTV in the Fall.
If it seems like a lot to give four guys in one year, it is. But they stay focused by connecting with fans. “They show us so much love,” says Kieran. “We just really want to show them how hard we’re working for them and how they helped us get to where we are.”
For now, 4Count is happy to focus on the family. “We rely on each other. We’re like brothers,” says Aaron. “We’re with each other 24/7.” In the recording studio, on the rehearsal dance floor, out in the field throwing a football—the band that works and plays together, stays together. “It’s not anything forced. There’s no outsider of the group. We’re a family,” says Kieran.
So, maybe you can choose your family. And your dreams. Because 4Count is set to be the band to fight for both. “This 4count train, no one’s going to stop it,” says Aaron. “We’re going to push it as far as it goes.”
